Upcoming Events/Training for Childminders

Carlow County Childcare Committee is running the Childminding Pre-Registration Training course over two sessions, on Wednesday, 12^th and Thursday, 13th August from 10am-1.30pm.

The aim of the training programme is to help you:

• Decide if you would like to become a Childminder and care for children in your own home.

• Understand the new childminding regulations. There is currently a 3 year transition period to September 2027, after which registration will move from being voluntary to mandatory.

• Apply the regulations to your childminding practice.

• Understand the Tusla registration process for childminders.

• Understand the documentation required to register with Tusla.

• Access supports and resources.

It will also provide an opportunity to meet with other childminders both new and existing which will offer you great peer to peer support.

Once you have completed the training you will be issued with a certificate of attendance. Please see Flyer for further details.
